This is the second most common thing we see. It means your pay run finalised properly, but Employment Hero never produced a journal for us to send on.
Worth being clear about what sits where: we don't build your journal. Employment Hero exports one when a pay run is finalised and we deliver it into Zoho Books. If no journal was exported there's nothing for us to deliver, which is why you'll see no error at your end and no wrong figures anywhere.
Nine times out of ten, journal export isn't switched on for that pay run. Open the pay run in Employment Hero and check. This is usually what's happened when journals stop for no apparent reason, or never started for an entity you added recently.
The other possibility is that no pay run was processed for that period at all. On a fortnightly or monthly schedule, or over a quiet stretch, that's entirely normal and there's nothing to fix.
In Zoho Books, open Accountant > Manual Journals. If journals run up to a date and then stop, compare that against your pay run history in Employment Hero. Pay runs carrying on past the last journal points at journal export.
Once export is on, send us the pay run dates and we'll re-run them. They arrive as draft journals so you can check them before anything is final.
One thing that catches people out: pay runs finalised before your chart of accounts was fully mapped often won't offer a Republish Journal option in Employment Hero. That option only appears once a journal has published successfully at least once. When that happens we trigger the sync from our side instead, so you don't need to unlock or re-finalise anything.
